Ectoin
What it is. An extremolyte, a protective molecule first found in microorganisms that survive extreme salt, heat, and dryness. In skin it binds water tightly around cell structures and stabilises membranes against stress.
why it matters
Any acne treatment, however gentle, is asking the barrier to tolerate an active. On thinning menopausal skin, that tolerance is the limiting factor. Ectoin reinforces the barrier from the first application, holding hydration and reducing the irritation response, so the treatment can run daily for the three skin cycles it takes to see results.
how Enclir uses it
Included in Encap S+ as the barrier guard for the acne actives, which is why S+ can be described honestly as clearing without stripping.
