Why teen acne products fail mature skin
Most acne products on the shelf are designed around a single assumption: the skin is oily, thick, and resilient. They work by aggressively drying and stripping, because a teenage barrier can take it.
Mature skin can't. The same benzoyl peroxide or alcohol toner that controlled oil at sixteen now triggers irritation, rebound oil, and visible flaking on top of the breakouts — leaving skin worse than before.
The fix isn't a gentler version of the same blunt instrument. It's a different mechanism entirely: targeted delivery that acts only where inflammation exists and leaves the rest of the barrier untouched.
